Ai Generated Emails

So here’s a question. Does AI build trust or does it foster mistrust?

I’m not sure I have the answer here, but what I do know for sure is that my Inbox is inundated with all sorts of appeals. These are mostly appeals from companies I’ve never heard of. Some that even appear to have fictious names. And, lately, the sender always seems way too friendly and casual, not particularly professional. There was a time when AI-induced copy was very robotic sounding. Now, it’s much more “real world” sounding but maybe too much so, if you know what I mean. Frankly, it makes me suspicious. If these “lead-gen” folks promise 100+ bona fide new business leads in 30 days, “guaranteed,” how really can they do this when they’re making assumptions about our business model without actually getting to know us. And some of these even get pretty sophisticated where they crawl through our site and sprinkle their emails with references to our website. Makes me think it’s just a sophisticated scam from guys looking for a quick buck—or worse.

There’s always the possibility, of course, that in the mix of these unsolicited emails there are legit senders who simply are leaning too heavily on AI to broaden their campaign reach. If that’s the case, then, they’d better find some other way that actually is authentic and won’t be confused with Chat GPT or Gemini.

Does this sound real to you?. What’s your experience with AI? Please email me and let me know. Thanks!
