My paintings are a vehicle I like to use to lift a person up, bring about a smile and maybe even make someone laugh. With all that goes on in the world I think of my work as sort of an escape from worries, problems and sadness and an entrance into the world of whimsy, cheerfulness and fun. I love color, bold shapes and exciting compositions. It’s all about taking an ordinary everyday object and blowing it up with colors that react next to each other and vibrate, bounce or pop! There’s nothing serious about my work. I have fun making it and if I can make someone smile when they look at it, then I’ve served my purpose.

The finest quality acrylic-based pigments are applied to stretched canvas. Layer upon layer of color creating bright contrast with unconventional combinations of shades are what I enjoy most. I find objects in life that most people are very familiar with and add my flavor of color and perspective.

Growing up with my artist mother was a stroke of good luck for me. She provided all the paint and paper I could dream of along with her loving patience and encouragement. I was formally educated in fine arts at Philadelphia College of Art, Tyler School of Art and Clemson University. I’ve sold and bartered many paintings over the years, exhibited in art shows and been given awards and ribbons.
